[ Autograph ] Clementine S. Churchill Good content T.L.S. 2pp. 8vo.,London, Mar. 8, 1950 to Col. Frank Clarke. In part: "...Miss Molly Guion, a young American artist, presented Winston with a portrait shehad painted of him... She has approached us and asked whether she might borrow her portrait from us because she wishes to submit it foracceptance at the Royal Academy... no trace can be found of her painting... this is where Winston and I would like you to help us...'Mrs. Churchill then describes how the portrait may have been left at a hotel in New York for Clark and the manager "to dispose of as best you could", and hopes that Clark may be able to locate it. She closes "...Winston fought a very strenuous Election campaign but I am glad to say he is fit and ready to tackle the serious problems of this precarious new parliament..' Slight paperclip stain at top, otherwisevery good.
