(1826-1889) Union colonel and draftsman. A group of three rare war-date appointments of Blunt showing his rise in military standing, each 1p. folio, the first dated June 6, 1861, his promotion to "Adjutant of 3rd Regiment 1st Brigade" in the Vermont militia, signed by Governor of Vermont ERASTUS FAIRBANKS; the second, Sept. 25, 1861, his appointment as "Lieutenant Colonel for the 6th Regiment 1st Brigade" of Vermont militia, also signed by Fairbanks; and the third, Sept. 19, 1862, his promotion to "Colonel of the Twelfth Regiment of Infantry", signed by Vermont Governor FREDERICK HOLBROOK. Each very good condition, with a copy of Blunt's service record.
