Lot 511
Description:
GEORGE ANNENKOFF (1889-1974) Russian-born artist but better known as a writer, best known for his influential Novel about Nonsense (1934), also his essays for Russian magazines, works on theatre, and memoirs. Very rare A.Ms. (unsigned), 1p. 8vo., [n.p., n.d.], a working draft in pencil of a likely unpublished poem, in Cyrillic on a light brown sheet. With a distinct Revolutionary flavor, untranslated. With additional penciled notes on verso. Edges are quite worn and paper bears soiled folds, obviously a much-used manuscript. Certainly worthy of further research. $800-1,000
