DAVID H. LAWRENCE (1885-1930) English novelist whose works examined the ills of modern industrialized society and the role of sex in human affairs. Among his most noted works are Sons and Lovers , Lady Chatterly's Lover and Women in Love . Fine content A.L.S. "D. H. Lawrence " 1p. 8vo., Sicily, Mar. 9, 1920, to his literary agent James Brand Pinker, in part: "...Thank you for the bundle of agreements also the two packets of manuscripts, which you sent. The above is my address for the next year, if ever you should require it... ". Pinker (1863-1922), was Lawrence's literary agent from 1914-1920. Lawrence terminated his relationship with Pinker on January 10th of this year, and, less than one month later, on Feb. 8, asked Pinker to send his manuscripts, except Women in Love, and agreements by registered post. Folds, signature just a tad faded, otherwise very good. Matted with a portrait and simply framed. Unexamined out of frame. $1,500-2,000
