(1813-1893) South Carolina state delegate to the Secession Convention, elected Governor in December, 1864. A.L.S. "A. G. Magrath" on his law office stationery, 1p. 8vo., Charlestown, December 20, 1877, in part: "...I believe that in that office your administration of its duties would be marked by professional ability and performance...to the people of the state, would at the same time give perfect satisfaction to the government...". Fold affects signature, else very good.
