AMERICAN PROPAGANDA POSTERS
Excellent pair of original American World War II propaganda posters. Includes: Propaganda poster, 22" x 28", featuring a monochrome variation of artist James Montgomery Flagg's depiction of Uncle Sam, with the exhortation "I Need Your Skill in a War Job!" Beneath the image appears a list of twenty-four vital jobs, including: "Airplane Skin Man... Ammunition Inspector... Assembler, Ship... Mixer Operator, Explosives... radio Chassis Assembler...", with instructions for anyone possessing these skills to report to their nearest U.S Employment Service. The poster is marked at the bottom as "O[ffice of] W[ar] I[nformation] Poster No. 25", and also: "U.S. Government Printing Office : 1943 - O - 502683", with instructions on obtaining additional copies from the Office of War Information. Shows original mailing folds, else very good to fine. WITH: World War II-era poster, 22" x 28", a 1943 chart released by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, depicting a wheel listing the seven essential food groups, with the instruction: "For Health... eat some food from each group... every day!" At the center of the wheel appears a happy family with the message: "U.S. Needs Us Strong - Eat the Basic & Every Day". The bottom edge is marked: "U.S. Government Printing : 1943 - O - 525965". Shows original mailing folds, else very good to fine. Two pieces.
