Description:

AMERICAN INTELLIGENCE REPORT ON DESIGN OF A CAPTURED GERMAN FLAME-THROWING BUNKER
Incredibly detailed, illustrated study of "Bunker No. 479 CONTWIG", obtained in December, 1944 from captured German Obergefreiter Woenne of 63 Fortress Battn. by G-2 Section of Patton''s Third Army, just before the start of the Battle of the Bulge. The exact location of the bunker is set forth, at Contwig in the vicinity of Zweibruecken near the French border. Everything known about the bunker has been set down, including ventilation, mortar and elaborate flamethrower defenses, outside and interior views, piping, valves, pumps, access way, etc., with over 150 items listed and described on the detailed drawings. The fearsome flamethrower, called a "FN-Geraet", is described of being capable or projecting flames 40 meters in a 360-degree arc. Fascinating material, upon which an operating engineer has surprisingly scribbled: "No interest...".
