(1824-1881) Union major general who is known for the disastrous charges made at Fredericksburg in 1862, and the nicknaming of distinctive facial hair. Partly-printed D.S. "A. Burnside", 1p. oblong 4to., New York, July 26, 1869, a stock certificate for 500 shares in the Indianapolis & Vincennes Railroad Company, issued to one George W. Farlee. Punch cancels lightly affect signature, otherwise very good condition.
