Description:

Good lot of three Allied World War II propaganda posters, includes: small U.S propaganda poster, 9 3/4" x 13 3/4", advertising the “6th War Loan” with an image of a U.S. soldier glowering over an image of the islands of Japan, beneath the large red title “Next!”. At left appears the image of bomb striking a Japanese military flag. The printed signature of artist James Bingham appears below the soldier, and a printing line at the bottom identifies it as an “Official U.S. Treasury Poster”, produced by the Government Printing Office in 1944. Backed with archival linen, very good to fine: WITH: British propaganda poster, 20" x 15", a colorful depiction of tanks in a desert scene, over the caption: "British tanks hurled Italy out of Abyssinia, and in Libya completely wrecked Axis plans of conquest." The initials "P.A." appear at bottom right, but no printing information is present. Backed with archival linen, shows folds and a tear at center repaired by the backing, else very good. WITH: advertising poster for "Yank" magazine, 13 1/4" x 17 3/4", featuring a sultry portrait of a young woman with the query: "What do you Want for a Nickle?" The title below promises: "There's a Full-Page Pin-Up Gal in Each Issue of Yank", and lists the price per copy. No printing information is available. Backed with archival linen, shows original mailing folds, else very good. Three pieces.
