ALICE B. TOKLAS
(1877 - 1967) American ex-patriot writer, best known as the lifetime companion of Gertrude Stein. She garnered attention for her own work, The Autobiography of Alice B. Toklas (1933), ironically, actually Stein's memoirs. A.L.S. 1p. oblong 8vo., [Paris], Apr. 2, 1954, in her tiny, precise hand to friends Mr. and Mrs. Leo Perper in New York. Alice writes, in part: "...Thank you so much for remembering me with your good wishes and the so charming photograph of you in beloved Seville. It would be wonderful to meet you there some day - but it is unlikely I'll get to Spain again so I will hope to meet you here some time soon...". Light toning to edges, fine, with original holograph envelope.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling, shipping and insurance charges will be added to the invoice in one entry. Customer's who supply their own courier account number will still be charged a handling fee.
