GEORGE SYLVESTER VIERECK
(1884-1962) American poet, propagandist and Germanophile; an early supporter of Hitler and general apologist for Nazism, convicted in 1942 for failing to register as a Nazi agent. Signed book, his volume Salome: The Wandering Jewess (New York: Horace Liveright, 1930), boldly inscribed in pencil on the first free endpaper: "For the Gay Penguiners with the cordial regards of a father of Salome George Sylvester Viereck". Lacking dustjacket, light toning to autograph page, overall very good. Along with Viereck's volume Nineveh and Other Poems (New York: Moffat, Yard & Company, 1912), not signed. Two pieces.
