Important content early autograph manuscript, 4pp. legal folio, [n.p. likely Munich, ca. mid-1920s], being speech notes or discussion notes made in pencil following public accusations made against him that the Beer Hall Putsch had been financed by the French, and his thoughts on the occupation of the Ruhr. In part: '...The struggle for the Ruhr. The goal of my struggles ['Mein kampfes']. France really did give money. Complete insanity. France and us. The Ludecke case. [Kurt Ludecke, a German businessman and early promoter of Hitler] Hard foreign currency at the time of inflation. The newspapers. The Party members. The publishing industry.... Pittinger [Otto Pittinger, a Bavarian civil servant who headed one of the Fatherland Societies] ought to know that the claim is nonsense. Hanfstaengel [Ernst 'Putzi' Hanfstaengel, 1887-1975. One of Hitler's earliest financial supporters, took part in the Beer Hall Putsch in 1923]...What money ends up in their hands. I myself fought 4 1/2 years against France...an unheard of insult...getting money...Did Morell identify a newspaper? Morell's father was French...My trip to Switzerland...Examples for the press. What money ends up in their hands?...Hitler has also added several doodles, one resembling a spider dangling by a single thread or a perhaps a woman's head hanging by a single hair from a ceiling. Accompanied by a complete transcript and translation. Encapsulated in an archival Mylar sleeve with the conservator's tag. Light uniform toning to pages, intersecting folds (complete horizontal separations lightly touching a few letters), and marginal chips and tears, otherwise very good condition. The Occupation of the Ruhr was a period of military occupation of the Ruhr region of Germany by France and Belgium between 11 January 1923 and 25 August 1925. France and Belgium occupied the heavily industrialized Ruhr Valley in response to Germany defaulting on reparation payments dictated in the Treaty of Versailles. Occupation of the Ruhr worsened the economic crisis in Germany, and German civilians engaged in acts of passive resistance and civil disobedience, during which 130 were killed. It also indirectly led to much-needed support for Hitler's NSDAP and other extremist nationalist parties.
