ABRAHAM LINCOLN
(1809-1865) Sixteenth President of the United States who led the Union through the Civil War and emancipated the slaves, assassinated. A.D.S. "A. Lincoln", 1p. oblong 8vo., [Illinois], July 16, 1841, likely removed from another document but complete in itself. His bond, in full: "I do hereby enter myself security for costs in the above cause, and acknowledge myself bound to pay or cause to be paid all; costs which may accrue in said action, either to the opposite party or to any of the officers of this court in pursuance of the laws of this state. Dated this 16th day of July A.D. 1841. A. Lincoln". Near fine, and ideal for display.
