Description:

(Abraham Lincoln) A photograph of Lincoln as President, seated in a chair, taken just weeks before his assassination. The photograph measures 4.5in x 7in and is in an old leather frame. According to the provenance, this photo is from an original Brady negative and was given to the owner by Brady's nephew. The frame is from the estate of Wayne MacVeagh, Garfield's Attorney General, who spoke for Lincoln to the citizens of Gettysburg the night before Lincoln's famous address. The image shows chipping and wear, mainly near the margins, yet remains completely presentable. With provenance.
