ABBOT "ABBIE" HOFFMAN
(1936 - 1989) Social and political activist who co-founded the Youth International Party ("Yippies") and was tried as a member of the "Chicago Seven". Later he became a fugitive from the law, living under an alias and working as an environmentalist following a conviction for dealing cocaine. His suicide is said to have been spurred by the lection of George W. Bush. Rare A.D.S. on an N.Y. State Correctional Dept. form while being held in prison on his drug conviction, a receipt: "Received 2 yellow pads envelopes & paper Abbie Hoffman 4-27-81". Folds, and a bit worn thereat, else very good.
