Description:

A STAR FROM DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER'S UNIFORM
An excellent and certainly uncommon relic, a swatch of fabric from General Dwight D. Eisenhower's tan summer uniform, emblazoned with one of his general's stars -- a hand-sewn silver bullion star. The fabric and star's provenance is excellent: included with the relic is a T.N.S., 1p., 24mo., Washington, October 14, 1985, a note from the famed White House seamstress Lillian Roger Parks. In part: "...I worked for Pres. Eisenhower for 8 yrs., and was closely acquainted with his valet of 27 yrs., Sgt. Moaney. I liked the President. He was a great man..." Boldly signed, "Lillian Roger Parks-- W H 1929-60" in blue pen. Fine.
