A LOCK OF WILLIAM WORDSWORTH'S HAIR
WILLIAM WORDSWORTH(1770 - 1850) English poet and a collaborator with Coleridge in several works, a leading influence in the English Romantic era. A fine relic, a substantial lock of the poet's blonde-gray hair tied with a small pink ribbon and contained within an 8vo. sheet of letterhead bearing the blind-embossed address "Merrixton House Near Stepaside Pembrokeshire". On verso is a penciled note Wordsworth's daughter Dorothy that reads: "...July 21st, 1836 Father's Hair Dora Guillaume". With original envelope with note penciled : "Wordsworth hair from John". Ex: Rendell, from the collection of noted collector Dr. John Lattimer, to whom it was given in 1969.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made.
