A Lock Of Washingtons Hair An actual lock of hair about 10-15 strands taken from the head of George Washington According to the provenance the hair was originally owned by Eleanor Parke Custis, grand daughter of Martha Washington A later owner was Col. Levin Powell a Revolutionary War hero and close friend of George Washington As a matter of fact Washington rode ten miles on his old charger to vote for Levin in his successful election to Congress The lock was obtained directly from the Custis Powell family and is attractively double matted against an image of Washington Below is a signed provenance from Charles Hamilton
