1236. 1794 INDENTURE A partly-printed scallop-top document on parchment, 1p. folio (approximately 32" x 25"), Wargrave, Berks County, Great Britain, August 18, 1794, a lengthy indenture, essentially a mortgage for forty pounds between one Frances Walker, widow of Richard Walker and Ann Piggott, widow of Robert Piggott, ornately written in clearly legible English. Good condition with heavy folds, red wax seal present, blue paper seal intact, royal ink stamp at lower left, several small punctures affect a few lines of text, also some transparent tape present. Royal paper stamp "83" affixed to verso, witnessed by Spenser Piggott and Tho. Cooper of Henley upon Thames. $30-50
