Description:

(1878-1943) Bolshevik Revolutionary that held high-level positions in Lenin's government, but later started an anti-religion movement under Stalin by editing an atheist journal, and serving several anti-religious committees. Great content A.D.S., 1p. 8vo., [n.p], March 1934, an attestation for the loyalty of an individual Yaroslavski believes to be a true Bolshevik. In part: '...I know Comrade Grigori Feldman in 1905, during the period of the Potemkin Insurrection...We considered him to be devoted to our party and expressed [in him] a lot of trust...' Some foxing, else fine. The Russian battleship Potemkin was a pre-dreadnought battleship built for the Imperial Russian Navy's Black Sea Fleet, and became famous when the crew rebelled against the officers in June 1905 (during that year's revolution), which is now viewed as the first step towards the Russian Revolution of 1917.
