A good lot of four matching uniform pieces that belonged to a sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Corps. Includes an ‘Ike' jacket of olive drab wool, with three plastic buttons and two exterior pockets. The left-hand shoulder bears the embroidered patch of the U.S. Army Air Corps Training Command, and near the cuff is a service stripe that represents three years of enlistment, while both sleeves bear sergeant's chevrons. The jacket is size marked ‘38L' on the back, along with a stamped laundry number. The left breast bears jump wings and service ribbons below it, representing the award of the Army Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, and World War II Victory Medal. The right breast features a sewn-on ‘ruptured duck' patch identifying this person was honorably discharged. The jacket is accompanied by a seven plastic button uniform shirt with two breast pockets in khaki wool twill, the left-hand shoulder bearing a sewn-on U.S. Army Air Corps patch, while each sleeve bears sergeant's chevrons. The shirt is size marked ‘14 1/2 33' at the collar. Additionally, included is a pair of trousers in olive-drab wool twill, with four pockets and a five-button fly. On the interior front right pocket there are multiple hand-scribed laundry numbers and names. Also accompanying is a standard issue khaki wool twill tie, with a faded fabric tag identifying the manufacturer as the Botany Worsted Mills. Very good.
