WORLD WAR II RAD GROUP
A great group of material related to the Reichsarbeitdienst or Reich Labor Service (RAD) which was created in 1933 to simultaneously combat unemployment in Germany and promulgate Nazi ideology. Separated into units for men and women, the RAD provided civic, agricultural and combat support throughout the war years in all areas of Europe. This lot includes a copy of ‘Arbeitsmanner zwischen Bug und Wolga' (‘Workers between the Bug and Volga Rivers') by Hans Look and Hans Fischer (Berlin: Zentralverlag der NSDAP, 1943), 72pp. softcover, a propaganda piece containing reports and photographs of the youngest age group of the RAD deployed, along with the German military during the Eastern Front offensive in the Russian Campaign of 1941, documenting their work in supporting the military, repairing streets, bridges, railways, guarding prisoners, and so forth. Includes dozens of original deckle edged photographs of varying sizes, two patches, an RAD passbook, several booklets, and more. Condition varies but overall very good.

Due to complications from the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we will ship with USPS Priority Mail only if the buyer submits their request to us in writing and accepts responsibility for delayed shipments. Signature is always required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling and shipping charges will be added to the invoice in one entry. Buyers should be aware that large, framed, fragile or odd shaped items can incur substantial shipping and packing charges. International shipments are invoiced by DIMENSIONAL weight, not the item weight. Please contact us for an estimate before bidding NOTE: Large, heavy or bulky items may not be shipped by the auctioneer - arrangements for shipping of these items via a third-party shipper may be arranged through the auction house. Customers who supply their own courier account number will still be charged a handling fee.
