Description:

WORLD WAR II GERMAN "HATE BELT"
Uncommon World War II "hate belt", a green Afrika Corps style web belt (lacking buckle) adorned with "souvenirs" of dead or captured British and Free French soldiers whom the wearer no doubt had a hand in taking. There are ten items attached to the belt, including six uniform stars, a fan-like brass pin, a royal British lion, a Free French Cross of Lorraine pin, and most notably, a badge from the British East Lancashire Regiment. Excellent condition, with the attached items undoubtedly affixed to the belt many years ago. The East Lancashires served in the drive to the Rhine in late 1944, as did the Free French. While "hate belts" were common in World War I, they are much less so from WWII.
