Description:

WORLD WAR II ANTI-GERMANY CARTOON BY A. W. MAKENZIE
A great piece of original cartoon illustration by New York Post cartoonist A. W. MACKENZIE, 11" x 15" in pencil and ink. The drawing lampoons Josef Goebbels who is depicted shaking and clutching a heart in front of a microphone labeled DNB with the caption: "Let a brave heart cover weak knees Goebbels". The DNB (Deutsche Nachrichten-Büro) was the single news agency created in December 1933 with the merger of Wolff's Telephone Bureau and the Telegraph Union and launched in 1934. It was the communication arm of the Goebbels propaganda machine, and whose board of directors were elected by Goebbels himself. Boldly signed by MacKenzie at conclusion, light wear, very good condition.
