WORLD WAR II AND BEYOND NEWSPAPER COLLECTION
A good collection of 20 newspapers including 10 issues of the New York Times dating between 1943 and 2002 and features many choice issues from the Second World War as well as the attacks of September 11, 2001. The Times issues include: July 26, 1943 (Ouster of Mussolini); Sept. 9, 1943 (Surrender of Italy) June 7, 1944 (Normandy Landings); April 13, 1945 (Death of F.D.R.); May 2, 1945 (Death of Hitler) May 6, 1945 (V-E Day); July 21, 1969 (Apollo 11 Moon landing); Sept. 12, 2001 (World Trade Center and Pentagon attacks); Sept. 13, 2001 (aftermath); Sept. 14, 2001 (Bush proclaims "POLICY OF 'ENDING' STATES THAT BACK TERROR..."); Sept. 15, 2001 (Bush visit to New York); Sept. 16, 2001 (Military preparations); Sept. 17, 2001; Sept. 18, 2001 (Stock market drops 7%); Oct. 8, 2001 (First U.S. strikes on Afghanistan); Sept. 11, 2002 (partial issue on first anniversary of 9-11 attacks). The lot also includes three other papers including New York Post, from Sept. 3, 1943 ("ITALY QUITS"); the New York Daily News from Sept. 11, 2002 ("CODE ORANGE"); and the Stuyvesant High School Spectator (Fall 2001) covering the downtown school's reaction to the events of September 11 distributed with the New York Times Issues bear minor tear and the older issues have the expected light to moderate toning, else very good condition. Together, twenty pieces.

Shipping

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling, shipping and insurance charges will be added to the invoice in one entry. Buyers should be aware that large, framed, fragile or odd shaped items can incur substantial shipping and packing charges. NOTE: Large, heavy or bulky items are not shipped by the auctioneer - arrangements for shipping of these items via a third-party shipper may be arrange through the auction house.
