WORLD WAR I IMPERIAL ZEPPELIN BADGE
An important badge worn by members of an institute commissioned by the Kaiser's offices to promote air travel--Deutsches Verein fur Luftfahrt (German Organization for the Promotion of Air Travel). This was an important group of chosen technicians, bankers, and businessmen, who were brought together for not only the launching of the first zeppelins but for the serious promotion of these great airships for commercial and possibly military usage. Measures 1 5/8" x 1 1/2" with black enamel front. Back of pin marked "Mayer & Wilhelm Stuttgart", with no metal purity noted. Pin back fully functional, very good condition.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling, shipping and insurance charges will be added to the invoice in one entry. Buyers should be aware that large, framed, fragile or odd shaped items can incur substantial shipping and packing charges. NOTE: large, heavy or bulky items are not shipped by the auctioneer.
