Description:

World War I British Army tunic for a 2nd Lieutenant, constructed of OD green twill fabric, secured closed at the front by four gilded brass buttons with each depicting the British coat of arms. Four patch pockets, the flaps secured with matching buttons. Both upper lapels bear a metal badge in the form of the coat of arms. Attached to the interior at the neck is an original tag indicating the maker as Burberry of London. Handwritten on the tag is date April 10, 1913. The cuff rank on the sleeves reveals the original owner to be a 2nd Lieutenant. Snags on the left sleeve near the cuff rank indicate there was once some sort of insignia affixed there, but it has since been removed. A few areas where the stitching has begun to come loose, mostly at the interior, some of which have been repaired. There is also a bit of fraying at the sleeves and very light patina to some of the buttons, else very good. Accompanied by an olive drab tie, no markings, no flaws.
