Good lot of three items signed by notable American aviators of World War I, includes: GEORGE A. VAUGHN, JR. (1897-1989), the second-highest ranked U.S. Army Air Service ace to survive the war. S.P., 4" x 7 3/4" b/w, a full-length period view of Vaughn in flying gear. He signs at lower left in blue ink. Trimmed at the left edge, shows a pencil identifying inscription on the verso, else very good. WITH: PHILLIPS MELVILLE (1895-ca. 1975), American aviator on the Italian Front turned painter of American military scenes. I.S.P., 8" x 10", a modern print showing a waist-up view of Melville before an aircraft in Italy. He signs in blue ink at top left, adding his rank "Col. USAF (Ret)", the date of signing "17 May 1974", and a caption dating the image to March 1, 1918, on the occasion of his completion of the "Superior Brevet" during training. ON the verso, he again signs in blue ink, adding the text of his "Superior Brevet" citation and further information about the photo. Very good. WITH: CHARLES KINSOLVING (1893-1984), pilot with the "Lafayette Escadrille", later publisher of "Fortune" magazine. I.S.P., 8" x 10" b/w, a bust view of Kinsolving in a pilot's cap and goggles. He signs boldly beneath the image in blue ink, adding "1st Lieut - Capt. Lafayette Flying Corps. BRE 117... (Villeneuve)... 163rd Aero Sqdn. A.E.F." Very good. Three pieces.

Shipments are sent via USPS Priority, USPS International Priority, DHL (for most overseas shipments) or FedEx Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature is always required, unless other arrangements are made. International shipments are invoiced by DIMENSIONAL weight, not the item weight.
