WORLD WAR I 90TH INFANTRY DIVISION TUNIC
A World War I US Army 359th Infantry Regiment tunic. A World War I U.S. Army infantryman's uniform with wool tunic, cap, and pants. The crudely-made green wool tunic bears three of five blackened regulation buttons at front with two hooks at the collar, four flap pockets with matching buttons, and theater made infantryman's patch affixed to the right shoulder. The left shoulder bears an embroidered regimental patch, about half the stitches sprung, a privates chevron beneath, and two gold overseas stripes on one backing applied at the end of the sleeve. 'US' and a '359 MG' machine gunners disc are attached to opposite sides of the collar. Some mothing and holes from use, a somewhat larger hole on the back, still with a little care a significant garment. The 359th served at Villers-en-Haye, Battle of Saint-Mihiel, and the Meuse–Argonne offensive.
