(1874 - 1965) British Prime Minister who led England through the Blitz and orchestrated the British liberation of occupied Europe and Germany. Churchill is today considered perhaps the greatest statesman of this century. A fine signed book, his volume Painting as a Pastime (London: Oldhams Press, 1948), first edition, signed on half title page: "Winston Churchill 1962". Elegantly bound in green oasis, all edge gilt, publisher's original beige cloth bound at rear. Fine to very fine condition, housed in a custom case. From the B. T. Fredericks collection.
