(1874 - 1965) British Prime Minister who led England through the Blitz and orchestrated the British liberation of occupied Europe and Germany. Churchill is today considered perhaps the greatest statesman of this century. T.L.S. "Yours sincerely, Winston S. Churchill" as Prime Minister on 10 Downing Street letterhead, 1p. 4to., Oct. 25, 1954 to MP John Harvey who three months earlier had caused an uproar when he hinted that Churchill's health was in decline. Churchill mentions that he has forwarded Harvey's letter to the Ministry of Housing and Local Government, encloses their reply, and rather testily adds: "...I don't see what further action I can take...". Folds, with a tiny punch hole at upper-left, else very good.
