WILLIAM S. GILBERT AND ARTHUR SULLIVAN
(1836 - 1911) English playwright and librettist who, in partnership with Arthur Sullivan, wrote the ever-popular operas Pirates of Penzance. H.M.S. Pinafore and The Mikado, among many others. A.L.S. 2pp. 12mo., Harrow Weald, June 2, 1892, in part: "...I have been hunting for an autograph of Sullivan, but I cannot find one. I thought I had two or three letters of his, but I suppose I have given them away...". Usual folds, mounting strip along left margin with minor glue remnants on verso, else very good. Offered together with an irregularly clipped signature of his partner ARTHUR SULLIVAN. Light toning, else very good condition. Together, two pieces.
