I owe no allegiance to a government which does not afford equal protection to all its citizens. We are in the minority now, though a respectable one, & increasing daily…' He signs ‘Wm Phillips' at the conclusion, adding a postscript enclosing a message from a cousin, signed again with his initials ‘W. P.' Shows original mailing folds and faint toning to the edges, otherwise in very good to fine condition.
