WILLIAM P. YARBOROUGH AND WILLIAM A. KNOWLTON
Pair of unit histories signed by prominent American generals. Included is: WILLIAM A. KNOWLTON (1920-2008), American four-star general and a former Superintendent of the United States Military Academy who commanded the 7th Armored Division in operations in France and Germany, a 62pp. 12mo. printed illustrated history of the 7th Armored printed immediately post-war in Germany, inscribed and signed with rank later; and WILLIAM P. YARBOROUGH (1912-2005), 'Father of the Modern Green Berets', commander of a battalion in the 504 P.I.R. and commander of the 509th Parachute Infantry Battalion, designed the Army's parachutist badge, paratrooper 'jump' boots, and the airborne jump uniform. Yarborough has twice signed a 28pp. 8vo. history of the 473rd Infantry printed just postwar, on the title page and again just beneath his photograph with Gen. Mark Clark within. Two pieces, very good.

Due to complications from the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we will ship with USPS Priority Mail only if the buyer submits their request to us in writing and accepts responsibility for delayed shipments. Signature is always required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling and shipping charges will be added to the invoice in one entry. Buyers should be aware that large, framed, fragile or odd shaped items can incur substantial shipping and packing charges. International shipments are invoiced by DIMENSIONAL weight, not the item weight.
