(1823 -1878) Mayor of New York and political boss. His construction of the New York Court House and the graft associated with it nearly bankrupted New York and led to his ultimate jailing. Partly-printed D.S. 1p. oblong 8vo., New York, May 23, 1867, an expenditure report for "Lamps and Gas", listing a $245.00 payment due for "Public Street Lamos". Boldly signed "W. M. Tweed". Weakened fold at middle, hole punch at top left corner, light toning to edges, overall good.
