WILLIAM HEIRENS
(1928 - 2012) "The Lipstick Killer" American serial killer who confessed to three murders in 1946, called "The Lipstick Killer" due to a notorious message scrawled in lipstick at a crime scene. Heirens had recanted his confession and claimed to be a victim of coercive interrogation and police brutality. At the time of his death, he was the longest serving American prisoner. T.L.S. 1p. 4to., [n.p.], Oct. 23, 1996 sending an article about his case (included) and adding: "...the parole board conceded that I was no longer a risk...that is, rehabilitated...When the state appealed these decisions...rehabilitation is recognized by the court as a determination of the parole board which is the only authority to make that determination...". Sold with copies of three orders in 1982 cases concerning Heirens' attempts to obtain parole. Very good.
