(1737 - 1814) American Revolutionary officer, a major general in the Continental Army reprimanded by Washington for his handling of the attack on Fort Independence, later commanding the Eastern Department and in the Hudson Valley. Partly-printed D.S. as Judge of Probate, Quincy, Aug. 13, 1811, a State of Massachusetts probate document appointing a guardian to attend to the affairs of two minors. Light scattered foxing, else very good.
