Emmert as Postmaster at New Oxford, Pa. Countersigned by FRANK H. HITCHCOCK as Postmaster General. Toning, light wear to edges, very good. Along with CHARLES EVANS HUGHES (1862 - 1948) Chief Justice of the Supreme Court (1930-41), Secretary of State (1921-25), defeated by Wilson in a try for the presidency. Partly-printed D.S. as Secretary of State, 1p. folio, Washington, June 9, 1923, appointing Hon. William L. Bennet asa Delegate to the Seventeenth International Congress. Mounted, chipped at corners, overall very good condition. Two pieces.
