(1727 - 1820) Signer of the Declaration of Independence. Ellery was a prominent Rhode Island lawyer who represented the state in the Continental Congress and in the proceedings leading the signing of the Declaration of Independence. A.L.S., 2pp. 8vo., Newport, Aug. 1, 1807 to Benjamin Bourne (1755 - 1808), U.S. Representative from Rhode Island and Circuit Judge of the United States Circuit Court for the First Circuit. A very involved and detailed letter concerning the administration of an estate. Ellery had advised that a contested house be removed from an estate and further outlines several points in the case which require further attention. The letter is addressed to Benjamin Bourne (1755-1808), prominent Rhode Island jurist, appointed by George Washington as District Judge of the U.S. District Court of Rhode Island, later appointed by John Adams as U.S. Circuit Judge of the United States Circuit Court for the First Circuit. With transcript, fine condition.

Signature is always required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling and shipping charges will be added to the invoice in one entry. Buyers should be aware that large, framed, fragile or odd shaped items can incur substantial shipping and packing charges. International shipments are invoiced by DIMENSIONAL weight, not the item weight.
