Chandler An incredibly nasty letter attacking the Editor of the Washington Post 3pp. 4to., Warner, Nov. 28, 1880 Chandler has been implicated by the paper in a scandal: ...How much money did you get [as a bribe] ...you came here to try & seduce our people... all the electoral votes Hancock received was the product of murder as a political weapon... I will convince you that you had better [retract] when I see you in Washington ...we Republicans must pity you poor Democrats... If you Publish this letter everybody would say you forged it.
