WILLIAM BURNET
(1688-1729) English Royal Governor in Colonial America of New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts and New Hampshire from 1720 to 1728. Manuscript D.S. signed twice "W. Burnet",1p. legal folio, New York, Mar. 19, 1723, in which Burnet grants the petition of John Nicholls and Joseph Smith, "the greatest creditors" of a resident of Jamaica, Queens, who died intestate, to claim what is owed them. They then take the Oath of Administration. Ink blurring in spots, usual toning, overall very good.
