Description:

(1859 - 1941) "Kaiser Wilhelm", Emperor of Germany and King of Prussia, a socially progressive ruler whose reign ended with Germany's defeat in World War I. Signed presentation photograph "Wilhelm R.", 7 1/4" x 12 3/4" in uniform as admiral of the Danish Navy, with handwritten dedication "S.E. Vice Admiral Kofoed-Hansen Berlin Feb. 1913". Wilhelm has signed across the bottom of his coat, with only fair contrast. Sold with the 4pp. 4to. program of the Danish king and queen's state visit to Berlin in February, 1913. Very good. Vice-Admiral Kofoed-Hansen was the Commanding Admiral and Inspector General of the Maritime Organization of the Danish Navy. He belonged to the royal retinue during the state visit.
