(1877 - 1946) Nazi Minister of the Interior, author of the Nuremberg Laws. Hanged at Nuremberg for his crimes. Fine association and content war-date D.S., 1p. 4to., Berlin, Dec. 11, 1942, the appointment of JOSEF TERBOVEN (1898-1945) to serve as: '...Reich Defense Commissioner for the area of the Reich Defense District of Essen. Your tasks and powers issue from the ordinance on the Reich Defense Commissars and the standardization of economic administration of November 16, 1942 (Reichsgesetzbl.I p.649) and from the service instructions applicable to the Reich Defense Commissars...'. Signed by autopen by HERMANN GORING as Chairman of the Council of Ministers for the Defense of the Reich, and hand-signed by Frick as Minister of the Interior at lower-right. Some toned horizontal lines and tape residue in left margin, else very good. Terboven served as Reichskommissar for Norway. He declared martial law in Trondheim in 1942, and ordered the destruction of Telavag. Committed suicide by detonating 50 kg. of dynamite in his bunker.
