Whitelaw Reid 1837-1912 American journalist and diplomat who made his reputation as a Civil War correspondent, later he succeeded Horace Greeley as editor and publisher of The New York Tribune. Lot of four A.L. S.'s on New York Tribune letterhead, 10pp. total, 8vo., 1873-76, routine content concerning the newspaper, disputes with contractors, etc. Very good.
