Description: A rare SA uniform tunic constructed of brown serge, featuring bright red wool collar tabs trimmed with braided aluminum bullion on each lapel. The left-hand example is fitted with four metal 'pips', indicating the rank of major, while the right-hand example is embroidered with the initials 'Wf' in silver bullion, indicating the 'Westfalen' ('Westphalia') regional group of the SA. The shoulders each feature a sewn-in shoulder strap of braided silver bullion, backed with bright red wool 'waffenfarb' and secured by a bright metal pebbled button. A red wool armband with sewn-on rayon disk and swastika is sewn to the left-hand sleeve, and the left-hand breast bears ribbon bars for the Iron Cross, the Military Merit Order of Wurttemberg, and the Honor Cross of the World War 1914-1918 with Swords. Each breast also features a pleated patch pocket with a flap secured by a pebbled metal button, with the right-hand example fitted with medal loops, and another set of loops below. A flap-covered patch pocket is also fitted at each hip, and the front is closed by four pebbled metal buttons. The interior is lined with ribbed gold silk or rayon, fitted with a horizontal slash pocket on the right-hand side. No maker's marks or labels are present. Two fabric patches inserted beneath the arms on the interior lining are partially detached, with some loosening to the stitching of the lining itself at rear center, and with a few small moth nips to the armband and a single minute hole to the right-hand sleeve, else very good.
