Description:

WEHMACHT M42 MEDIC'S HELMET
An extremely rare mid-to late-war M42 steel combat helmet, without decals, with a matte dark grey finish inside and out. Most interestingly, the front and sides of the helmet have had medical tape applied in the form of a cross, painted over with white disks, and the taped crosses then painted red, to indicate that the wearer was a combat medic. The rear interior skirt is heat stamped ‘EF66', indicating manufacture by Emaillerwerke A.G. of Fulda, over the batch number ‘3576'. The letter ‘R' is applied in white paint inside the rear skirt, partially obscuring the heat stamps. The light brown eight-finger leather liner is well-worn, with the size stamp ‘58' on one finger, and with many of the holes not fully punched out. The brown leather chinstrap is unmarked. The exterior paint shows a few expected chips and spots of oxidation overall, with a few additional oxidation spots visible to the interior skirt, otherwise in very good, attractive condition overall.
