679. SAMUEL B. WEBB (1753-1807) American Revolution officer, secretary and aide to Washington and Israel Putnam, present at Bunker Hill and Long island, a founder of the Society of Cincinnati. War date D.S. "Sam. B. Webb Colo" 1p. oblong 8vo., West Point, Dec. 13, 1782 certifying that "Sheridan Potter hath served in my Regt. the years 1780 and 1781...". Beneath Webb's statement, Potter has signed noting that "...the State Notes due for m Service in the Connecticut Line of the Continental Army...". Usual creases, otherwise fine condition. $200-300
