Description:

(WATERGATE)
FRANK WILLS (1948 - 2000) Security guard best known for his role in foiling the June 17, 1972, break-in at the Democratic National Committee inside the Watergate complex in Washington, D.C. Then 24, Wills, thinking quickly and because he was unarmed, called the D.C. police after discovering that locks at the complex had been tampered with. Five men were arrested, triggering the Watergate scandal. Two items: a signed booklet, published by Wil-Van, Inc., 12pp. 8vo., copyright 1973, entitled 'The Watergate Hero, An Eyewitness Report by Frank Wills, The Guard Who Discovered the Watergate Break-in', signed by Wills on the inside front cover under a profile of his life and career. Wills is long deceased, and his autograph is uncommon. The booklet was once folded vertically, penciled number on back page, else very fine. WITH: his signature at the bottom left of an A.L.S. of a fan requesting it, July 1, 1980. Folds, else very good. Two pieces.
