Description:

WAR OF 1812 33rd INFANTRY REQUISITION ORDER D.S., 1p., 4to, n.p. [but likely Plattsburgh, NY], ca. 1814, a requisition order from a Captain B. DUNN of the 33rd Infantry for equipment, arms, and uniforms needed for the year 1815. Dunn created a table of items that is incredibly detailed, requesting items from socks to axes to various types of tents and coats, and also enumerates his company, indicating six sergeants, six corporals, two musicians, and seventy-five privates for a total of 89 troops under his command needing resupply. Dunn includes a note, in part: "...Armes Good and Clothing very bad being of a bad quality when Received...". At the time of the requisition the 33rd Infantry was at Plattsburgh, having just finished taking part in the fighting at the Battle of Plattsburgh in September, 1814. Boldly signed "B Dunn, Capt 33rd Infry". Minor folds, else fine.
