Description:

VINTAGE KU KLUX CLAN PUBLICATION VIGILANCE
A copy of the Ku Klux Klan publication Vigilance, ("Champion of Militant Americanism"), Oct. 10, 1924, 8pp. 4to. The cover bears an image of a hooded, but otherwise naked, Klansman standing on a mountain above the White House. Articles within include: "Klan News", "Negroes Complain" and "Let there be Light" - all of which contain the predictable Klan rhetoric and content. Vigilance identifies itself as: "Dedicated to the promulgating of the distinctive and worthy principles of the Knights and Women of the Ku Klux Klan; to unflinchingly challenge any influence detrimental to the welfare of peoples within our National borders, to promote a Brotherhood of Man...". Split at spine, wear to edges, in need of restoration, still good.
